Over 80% of the engineers graduate wind up seeking after non-technical jobs
This is because of the lack of accessible employment opportunities. To address the gap between skills required for top-notch technology occupations and work-preparation of graduates, Scaler (a platform by edtech start-up InterviewBit) has introduced a first of its kind school buddy program called Scaler Edge – to support the employability of engineering graduates. Furthermore, to satisfy the developing need for online skilling courses, the organization plans to employ 500 all the more teaching partners and guides in this economical year. As per industry studies, 15 lakh engineers graduate in India each year out of which just 2.5 lakh engineers land in related employments in the technical field. Out of those generally, 2.2 lakh openings are in software, within which a dominant part (1.8 lakh occupations) are in IT services gathering around just INR 3-5 LPA in compensation.
