Computer Security Consultant: Jobs
These tech jobs have seen salary boosts of up to 50% in the last year
It’s no secret that tech jobs are in demand — and some have
seen substantial pay increases within the last year, according to a new study.
Development managers, user experience and user interface
designers, system architects, and data science professionals saw the highest
jump in pay in the past year, according to tech recruiter Harvey Nash.
Combining research from 6,000 tech leaders and experts, the
report found several trends that favor tech workers, even though many companies
are only now bouncing back after the pandemic.
Development and
design see salary boosts
Researchers noticed that salaries for certain tech careers
saw the biggest rise globally. Nearly four in 10 technologists received a
salary increase in the last year, with 59% of development management
professionals leading the pack.
Fifty percent of design, user experience (UX), and user
interface (UI) professionals said they received a pay increase within the last
year, while at least 41% of system architects, data scientists, and software
engineers all received a boost.
The data suggest that increases in data science and
architecture salaries are a result of those jobs becoming more scarce in the
last year. Meanwhile, organizations looking to build systems with a customer
focus have placed a premium on development and design careers.

infrastructure management/team leadership (up 39%) all placed in the top 10,
according to the report.
Tech workers in Ireland, Poland, Australia, the U.S., and
Germany saw the greatest pay increases in the last year, with 39% in the U.S.
receiving a raise. The highest was in Ireland and Poland, where more than half
(57%) of tech experts got a salary bump.
Cybercrime leads job
push
Cybersecurity was labeled one of the biggest growth sectors in tech, but organizations are having trouble finding the right people for the job. With businesses adopting remote working models, the rise in cybersecurity jobs increased dramatically, but 35% of businesses have trouble recruiting the right people.
With cyberattacks, a major concern this year, roles such as an ethical hacker, computer security consultant, information security analyst, chief information security officer, and cybersecurity consultant are in demand.
